TROPICAL STORM BONNIE 2010

The latest update about tropical storm bonnie 2010. A tropical depression is heading toward the oil spill. Rain and lightning from tropical depression Bonnie have been making their way through the southern Bahamas on Thursday, and if the storm continues on its current path, it will directly hit the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Maximum sustained winds of near 35 mph were registered at the center of the depression just a few minutes ago. The skies went completely dark during the storm in Bahamas and Turks and Caicos, as rain fell all over the islands.

The storm system has already caused flood damage in Haiti, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico where a 14-year-old boy lost his life by drowning in a swollen river. In the Dominican Republic, nearly 500 people had been evacuated during the flood destroyed many rice fields. (more…)
